At Curious Kids Children’s Center we use positive guidance and discipline techniques with the children to better help them understand what is acceptable behavior and why.

OUR TECHNIQUES INCLUDE:

• Setting reasonable and fair limits, and clearly stating these limits along with what the desired expected behaviors are.
• Encouraging the use of words rather than physical means to express their feelings and resolve conflicts (introducing empathy)
• Re-direction (ie. Changing the circumstances or environment which may be causing unwanted behavior)
• Reinforcing positive behavior and ignoring negative behavior when appropriate to do so
• Offering simple, safe choices and allowing the children to experience logical natural consequences of their choice

Our Limits

• Curious Kids Children’s Center is a safe and respectful environment for all.
• Children are not allowed to intentionally hurt themselves or others either physically or emotionally.
• Equipment and supplies must be used in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Walking feet and inside voices are to be used indoors.
