Our Health Policy
To determine when a child is well enough to attend daycare can be a difficult decision for parents and for caregivers. The following policies have been drawn up with the interest of ALL children and caregivers in mind.
The following are a list of conditions for which you should keep your child at home:
- Fever 38.3 C (100 F) or over within the last 24 hours
- Vomiting within the last 24 hours
- Any complaints of unexplained pain
- Diarrhea within the last 24 hours
- Known communicable disease
- Green mucus coming from nose
- Lice or Nits
- Infected skin or undiagnosed rash
- Difficulties breathing — wheezing or persistent cough
If your child has been prescribed antibiotics, please ensure that he/she has been on them for at least 24 hours before bringing them back to daycare.
If your child had diarrhea or has been vomiting, you may bring them back to daycare 24 hours after the last episode (24 hours symptom free).
